Report Bugs Related to Dakari Tribe

71 comments:

  1. There's a minor glitch when exiting the minotaur caves.
In the ensuing cutscene Landon seems to hog all the comments Tessa or Sierra should be giving.

    1. Edit: Afterwards talking to Balon triggers the same lines as conversation.

  2. Could not find exit from Dakari Guest House easilly after nightmare. Eventually managed to exit by walking around but I found the lack of a door or area transition confusing.

    1. Unfortunately, that area type doesn't have the option to add doors. So I had to use an area transition box on the floor to navigate out.

  3. It possible the trigger to leave the minotaur caves has minor issues. I needed to talk to Balon numerous times to proceed. Finally the dialog boxes worked as expected If you talk to Dakarina you get transported back to the start of the caved after the escape

    1. I had similar issues; I had to run through the dialogue with Balon three times before it completed properly.

    2. I found that if you saved the game in the exit area, then reloaded it, the trigger *then* worked properly. (Just not the first time.)

  4. The dead camel in the pathway of destruction area is standing upright and appears alive.

    1. That's something buggy with NWN. Maybe I'll just replace the camels with something else and see if I get better results. I also noticed the rhinoceros appears to be floating.

      Delete
    2. I'm also encountered two dead camels in standing position and levitating rhinoceros. Maybe worth to replace them with a couple of dead wayward landwyrms or something even nastier (and instill more dread in a party :P )

  5. I can confirm the standing dead camels bug. Also, Find Landon quest is still active in my journal as of Dakari town.

  6. Is it supposed to be possible to completely ignore the gnome in the underwater cave and destroy his machine anyway? I ask, because on my first play through I did that. I thought there was a key somewhere in the dungeon that I needed to get to free him, but when you get to the level with his machine, it didn't allow the chance to go back down to the previous levels.

In addition to that, on several other playthroughs when I did free him and have him come with me, I only had a conversation start at the machine area if I had chosen the first dialog option (to destroy the machine) when I rescued him.

Also, after completing the water quest, my party still had their water helmets.

    1. Upon completion water quest, some script removed swimsuits from a party, but only Gladiatrix equipped her armor, Lendon and Tessa left naked. And it's safe to dump waterbreathing masks after?

    2. I also had trouble getting the gnome's conversation to trigger when entering the machine room.

  7. In Dreamscape, after Lendon death dialog with Tessa come up to me only after 3rd attempt. First time i suspected that something wrong when decided to talk with Tessa near Adeline and this dialog appeared, on 2nd try got message "You can not talk during combat"
Sadly, all subsequent attempts to recreate situation failed and all worked as intended (maybe because i knew already what to expect?).

    1. I had a similar issue; immediately after killing Landon I started getting warnings that I was too busy to talk. I think it was because he cast Entangling Roots or whatever, and that spell kept lingering for several moments after the battle. I waited until it was over and then I was able to talk to Tessa to trigger the dialog, but she didn't try to initiate it herself.

      Delete
    2. I actually made it all the way back to the guest house before I triggered this dialogue, when I started a conversation with Tessa. She talked about Landon's death, with him standing right behind her! Awk-ward!

I suspect it is the vines effect interfering. Maybe he could cast a dispel magic on death?

      Delete
    3. I'll probably just remove his ability to cast spells since it is a copy of Landon's character.

  8. Cypher dialogue when you report to him has UNRECOGNIZED TOKEN in the line after mentioning Keeper of the Forest. Also, after getting the mission Langdon is removed from party, but if you talk to him after that he has resurrection dialogue and can join you again. If I kick him out again he has appropriate floating text response.

    1. Also at this point "Gaining audience with Dakar" quest is still in the journal, as well as "Find Landon".

  9. In the part where our heroine can "distract" Tarth with sex while Tessa jams the door, the sex journal does not refer to correct event. Intercourse produced journal that referred to fight and fellatio.

  10. If you are too fast after leaving the minotaur caves and talk to Balon before the dialogue proceeds, Dakina, Balon and Landon will slowly go through the dialogue. After they are through there is no transition to the city and if you then talk to Dakina you are transported to the corridor before storage area.

  11. After losing the arena battle I was transported to the bath. After teleport a new instance of the Dakina spawns and repeats the same dialog as in the arena.

    1. Weird. That never happened to me in testing. Can other people let me know if that happens to them? That way I'll know if it is a frequent bug or if this one was just a fluke.

    2. I lost in the arena and was transported to the baths, but the dialog that I got was as if I had won, and I received bloodletter. The Dakina still stood around in the baths waiting after conversation ended, and if I talked to her again she started giving the speech that she gives when you first lose in the arena.

  12. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but during the poisoned water supply quest, after entering the underwater cave, I can't re-equip my gear. I keep seeing a "I can't equip this right now" message pop up over everyone's heads.

    1. I'm also experienced this. Why to fight enemies in swimsuits, if cave relatively dry?

    2. Obviously the idea is that you couldn't wear your armor underwater, either on yourself or in your backpack.

To avoid confusion maybe your armour could be put in a chest, but I prefer this way so I don't have to rearrange my equipment every time.

      Delete
    3. I actually meant to do that on purpose. I have plenty of inventory strips in the game already so I was trying to avoid adding another. The idea is to not have access to armor until the quest is over. If the character would drown wearing the armor then it seems to me they would drown carrying the armor.

      Delete
  13. Also I'm getting issues with Landon not attacking anything. It seems to only happen when I set him to defensive mode (where he only attacks whatever I attack).

  14. In the arena, if you kill the enemy gladiators too quickly, nothing happens and talking to the Dakina resets your position but without enemies. Also the gladiators surrender at low hp but it doesn't trigger a win.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Upon returning to Mystwood, i found Cypher in the same stage of undressing as before mission. In my case, Gladiatrix earlier removed shirt and hood, but his reluctance gained upper hand after.

  16. When the Dakina is abducted, if you talk to the guard and don't offer to help him, nothing happens. You stay in the sw quarter and if you speak to him again the conversation starts from the beginning.

  17. I have the same problem with sex journal, when Glady takes Dakaria's place, it's says she's go to his room alone and does him by hand, however, when she's does go up and takes that option, I get an update where is says she does him my mouth.

  18. Dakari Talisman of Radiance (reward for rescuing The Dakina) cannot be acquired if chosen dialog option "We can't accept such a valuable artifact.. ". Afterward Dakar says "We insist. Refusal is not option" , but talisman never appeared in backpack.. It's shame i found out about this only in Everdark, this amulet rather better then mine +3 Cha (

  19. It's a minor inconsistency, but I completed the nightmare quest before I ever set foot in the guest house, so I never triggered the nightmare there. The sex journal I receive still references the nightmare though.

  20. I can confirm the standing dead animals (btw the honey badger was a awesome bit of humour!)

In the dreamscape the huge demon with the undead is able to target the group before the teleport, bit troubling as the AI tends to keep running at him and do not go through the portal. Going back through still has the AI running after the demon is killed

    1. Badger of Caerbannog indeed was awesome.

  21. After clear Minotaur's base if you talk with Dakina when she is with Balon the dialog option goes back to the storage room part and you get teleported to the corridor again.

  22. I was wondering, when captured by the half-minotaurs Gladiatrix and her groups were still in undies, but when entering the Taurean Cavern Network, they were suddenly naked. I mean, why not just completely naked in the first place?

After rescuing Dakina, when met with Balon, the conversation broke. If you talk to Dakina again, the conversation from earlier started and you will be back in the taurean cavern network. I have to load it again so that the conversation with Balon went well.

'Gaining an audience with the dakar' was never updated to finished entry.

    1. You even keep on your underwear during the scene where you take the Dakina's place!

  23. In the caverns, when you're fixin the water problem, you can rest after the machine's been destroyed, making the damage your receive from falling stones irrelevant.

Also, if you rush into the room with device after killing the scorpion, characters might still be in combat state so you won't get a conversation from Frado.

  24. not really a bug. When we go saving the dakiri princess, we are helped by a barbarian. He can dual wield but has a great axe. I love the great axe who is great for a barbarian. But the ambidexterity and dualwield feats are useless.

  25. During the Arena fight Landon died and I had no way to resurrect him, so had to continue without him in the party.

I also had the non-fighting landon problem, maybe it would be an idea to supply a bow and some arrows as equipment for the arena fights to bypass this nwn bug.

Afterward when I got agreement to speak with the Dakari chief and are told that his daughter has been kidnapped, the conversation goes on until your told that it'll be two weeks to raise the army, after which the conversation ends and there doesn't seem to be anything else I can do. I'm thinking it ends due to Landon needing to be there to say something.

    1. If a henchman dies you have to resurrect or go back to a previous save since they are critical to the story. The only exception is the dreamscape where the companion death is story-driven.

I tried to make the arena fight where no one would die. Maybe the opponents got a couple of lucky critical hits in. I'm still working out the bugs on the arena fight.

  26. I completed the dakari and I am in the shrout base. I speak to the king. He gave me the amulet. I had the experience. But the quest to speak to the king is still open.

    1. You are supposed to talk to the arena foreman to get into the arena. He's standing right outside the arena. If you console jumped you might have missed some quests such as the rescue mission from the half-minotaurs.

  29. Landon doesn't equip the underwater breathing helmet automatically (the other characters do). You can have him equip it manually by accessing his inventory, though.

    1. Even though you can't equip your armour underwater, you can still use shields, fire arrows... You could apply restrictions to those as well, if it's not too hard to do.

      Delete
    2. Same for the arena equipment. Tessa equips the amulet and the armour automatically, but you have to equip Landon manually.

    3. There are two music tracks playing at the same time in the arena, though one of them seems to stop eventually for some reason.

      Delete
    4. I was talking about the pre-combat part, when the Dakina makes the presentations, but the same issue happens again once the fight starts (with a different track this time).

      Delete
    5. Tessa and Landon won't break the crystals in the arena, even though I asked them to do so.

    6. Balon has dual wielding feats, but he uses a greataxe.

    7. Sort of a visual bug in the half-minotaurs' lair. Look at the open trapdoor here:

    8. Question: If you ask Tarth to take you instead of the Dakina, is the strength check an automatic failure?

Just in case, I tested it by casting Bull's Strength (for a score of 24) and I still failed.

      Delete
    9. When the Dakina takes you into the corridor in the half-minotaurs' lair, she's referred to as an "unknown speaker".

      Delete
    10. The Dakina's feats don't make much sense. She's specialised in bows, but she has the Great Cleave line, which only works in melee.

... Unless it's intended as a backup melee option.

      Delete
    11. Sometimes, the conversation with Balon once you leave the taurean caverns ends abruptly, before it reaches the end.

      Delete
    12. Actually, change that "sometimes" for "almost always".

I've seen that this was already addressed, but I can't seem to work around it by talking to Balon manually, as the conversation starts automatically as soon as the area is loaded.

      Delete
    13. My bad, I could manually talk to Balon this time after the conversation broke. It didn't work some other times, though.

      Delete
    14. Suggestion: Make the Dakina extra grateful (just adding an extra line of dialogue or something like that would work, though I guess she could give you a bigger reward or whatever) if the taureans rape you instead of her.

      Delete
    15. Thanks for the observations. Some of them I might not be able to fix because it doesn't happen on my end. For instance, Landon not equipping items. I'll double-check but I'm almost certain I don't get that problem.

The strength check against Tarth is an automatic failure. Or it might be such a high number that it will fail anyway. I hesitate to mention it being an automatic failure because some people get pissed off about that, but there is no way of them knowing unless they hack into the toolset or I tell them. I put the false check in to give the illusion of more roleplaying but in this case, getting overpowered is part of the story line. Some of the ability checks in the series are real and some are fake.

    16. OK, I thought so. I don't mind, but I wanted to make sure it was working correctly.
