Report Bugs Related to Shroud Alliance/War

45 comments:

  1. Not a bug per se, but in the final battle Xanderfein, who was the father of my child, died. When I got to the epilogue, I was alone and I kind of got the feeling he was supposed to be there from the text.

Since it's the final battle, and if Shroud ends up victorious, they could resurrect key characters, so that you don't have to load up if you don't have a way to resurrect someone...

    1. After the final war battle you would need to resurrect your romantic interest if they died. Otherwise, when you get to the cabin in the woods they won't show up and you won't get the ending conversation.

    2. Hmm, maybe you could add a different epilogue then. Your lover died, you raised the child by yourself blah blah blah....

  3. Not really a bug, but not sure if this is a missing scene that will be added in full release, but the tents in the shrouds new hideout, are you suppose to be able to enter them?

    1. No, they are just there to make it look like more of a complete camp. Your tent is the only one accessible

  4. In the Scourge main chamber (before you can meet up with the Shroud members and decide which side to join with), I'm getting a glitch where the scene won't progress. I can't remember exactly, but I think it's because Kristaly isn't present for some reason?

  5. In desert Shroud Camp Headquaters, talk options with Cypher "Do i get any say so in this?" \ "But i don't want to" \ "Fine, but if i see anything in the Valley of the Damned..." is standoff. Dialog with Cypher began anew after.

    1. UPDATE.
All dialog options after "Do i get any say so in this?" is standoff. Also, in Valley of the Damned descriptions of all dinosaurs match landwyrm.

  6. How any different romance endings are there? I want to make sure I test them all.

    1. If you choose the Shroud path your romances could be Braxton, Cypher, Kelvyn, Landon, Tessa or Xanderfein.

If you choose the Scourge path your romances could be Avyndar, Braxton, Kristaly, Tessa or Xanderfein.

The trigger for determining your final romance is the person you choose to dream about when you are alone and have your dream.

  7. Which track from NVN's soundtrack is playing when you're on the Airship Endeavor? I really like it but I can't figure out what it is.

  8. Okay, I made a save right before talking to Braxton and entering the desert shroud base so I can test the different pregnancy options. If I don't allow Braxton to kiss me before entering the camp, then the little "feeling nauseous" box won't fire. I've tried this about six times now, and every time I turn Braxton down I'm not pregnant.

    1. That conversation doesn't have anything to do with getting pregnant with Braxton. If your character had sex with him in the Illithid complex then you get a variable that makes it possible to get pregnant by him. With each of the five male characters, the variable that makes them a potential father gets set at the time the character has sex with them. The actual father is chosen when entering the Shroud Camp by random chance.

I'll double-check the variables for Braxton but I'm certain I got pregnant by him in testing. I'll also see if there is a broken conversation link when talking to him.

    2. It's a shame my poll is broken. That way I could see if anyone else ended up with Braxton as the father.

    3. Sorry, my wording was confusing. I meant that when I turned down Braxton before entering the camp I would not the notification that I was pregnant with anybody's baby, and no options would pop up when speaking with the healer. If I kissed him then entered the camp it would proceed as normal (randomly deciding the father of the baby).

    4. My character was pregnant with braxton. She had sex with him. She use the potion before but not just after the sex scene with braxton because she had not her equipment.

    5. I reloaded a few times and I was able to confirm the pregnancy script worked for everyone but Landon (missed the opportunity to trigger his flag.)

  9. I don't know if it qualifies as a bug, but it's strange behavior--I can resurrect the temporary companions like the treants and the elven wizards if they die during the final battles, but they won't rejoin the party; they just hang around.

  10. In the final battle when I enter the battlefield all the Shroud are dead already. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be? At least it's different from when you're with the Scourge. This has happened everytime I played (I played twice).

    1. That's strange. I've never had that happen. Usually when the area loads the battle is usually already started. It seems like they start attacking each other before the area completely loads. If the area takes a really long time to load I guess it's possible that most could be dead, but it seems it would take a couple of minutes before that would happen. Maybe the dragons killed everyone?

      Delete
    2. It takes about 5 seconds to load the area and then every Shroud is dead already. One or two of the Scourge are injured.

      Delete
    3. They're also all dead if I use the console to move to that area from an earlier save.

They are not dead however if I start a new game and then click very fast through the first dialog and immediately move to the batte area. If I then just watch the battle I can see the Scourge attacking the Shroud but at least some of the Shroud (the Treant for example) do not fight back - they just stand there and let the Scourge slaughter them. The Wizards fight and result is different. Still all the Shroud are dead at the end but some of the Scourge are dead too and lots are injured.

But if I start a new game, take my time to read the dialog, wait a little bit and then after a few minutes move the the ballte area, then the Shroud are all dead and the battle is over.

So it seems that - atleast on my computer - the battle starts immediatly after I start the game. I'm not a builder so I don't know if it's actually possible but that's what it looks like.

    4. I confirmed that the same thing happened to me when I ran some tests. The battle was already in full swing and most dead by the time I arrived. In fact, the same thing happened when I tested the both alliance battles. This is really weird because I don't remember this happening during my initial runthroughs. So for the final release I made it to where all your allies spawn on area entry. That way we get to participate from the start of the battle.

  11. When picking up the idols of Lelune and Malharga from my tent in the Shroud's camp, their powers activated. This didn't happen the other times I had to retrieve my equipment.

    1. I got a second De'Mizzarre symbol from my lost equipment. I had got another in the Everdark, but I don't recall if it was the same one or not, so I'm not sure if this is a bug.

    2. There are two music tracks overlapping in the Shroud camp area.

    3. Kelvyn has feats for a lot of different weapons. Since he has a warhammer, it'd make more sense if his feats were related to that specific weapon.

    4. When entering Heirendale:

"You traveled for several more days and finally reach..."

      It should read "travel".

    5. Hi Arkalezth, thank you so much for going through the module with a fine-toothed comb. Even though I've submitted the production release I'm still watching the beta blog for anything that still comes up that I can apply to a future update. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still making notes on what is found and I appreciate all the effort :)

    6. You're welcome. :) BTW, I'm not an English native speaker so I'm hoping to be correct in all these typo/grammar reports. And sorry for the multiple posts... I'm just messy like that and I can't edit.

      Back to the typos:

Same conversation as above (entering Heirendale). Kelvyn says at one point: "You're taking a big risk. What if you're captured as well."

The sentence is missing a question mark.

    7. Whoops, wrong section. Sorry, I'll copy those in the grammar section.

  12. Game-breaking bug?

I talked to Kristaly went meet Avyndar, etc. The conversation where he tells you about your friend coming looking for you breaks at one point.

Kristaly isn't around; perhaps she's supposed to say something and she failed to spawn?

BTW, despite meeting Avyndar, I wasn't looking to side with the Scourge (I picked the "this is going to fail" options). In that conversation, he tells me to talk my friends into joining the Scourge, so I hope the game doesn't assume that I've joined them myself already.

Anyway, I'll try reloading a previous save and see if that fixes the bug. If it doesn't, any idea? I can always reload and do the Heirendale part again, refusing to meet Avyndar altogether.

    1. The last line Avyndar says before the convo breaks is:

"When we usher in the new age..."

    2. Sorry, just saw that this is a known bug. I had forgotten to check the known bugs section.

I've read some references to Emmalynn accompanying you to Kristaly's airship, but I had only Kelvyn joining me. Is this normal?

      Delete
    3. Only Kelvyn escorts you to the airship in the beta version. In the new release Kelvyn and Emmalynn both escort you.

On the Kristaly bug, what is happening is I have her set to dismiss towards the end of the first conversation with Avyndar. What's happening is if things move too fast then she is not dismissing in time before your character makes the jump to the dining room. She she ends up wandering into walls. I've fixed that in the released version by setting her to dismiss earlier (I hope that fixes it). Anyway, if you have a save before meeting Avyndar the first time just go through that conversation with him slowly so she gets dismissed before the conversation ends.

      Delete
    4. I did it all again slowly (I didn't go much faster the first time anyway), but no luck. Basically, Kristalys appeared pretty much everywhere but where she should. This is exactly how it went:

      - She got removed as a companion at the end of the first conversation with Avyndar. She didn't leave the room, but she was no longer in the party.

      - She spawned in the dressing room at one point, for some reason. She didn't say or did anything; she just stood there.

      - I had the dinner normally (Kristalys didn't appear here), and then I had sex and slept with Avyndar. After waking up, Kristalys spawned there again.

      - No sign of Kristalys in the next day's meeting.

So I'm just going to reload a save on the airship and refuse to visit the Scourge base.

P.S.: Avyndar isn't an option in the pool at the right. Can't he make you pregnant?

      Delete
    5. Hmm, I really hope that me setting Kristaly's dismiss script earlier in the conversation fixes that. I have no idea what could be causing her to become a mindless zombie at that point. It seems to happen randomly and only happened once for me when I rushed the conversation.

The PC can't get pregnant with Avyndar because the pregnancy variable is set before meeting him.

      Delete
    6. Well, at least I was able to finish the module by refusing to visit the Scourge base (posted a few thoughts on the "general comments and feedback" section).

I intend to try the final version at some point, likely siding with the Scourge then, so I'll see how it works then. Hopefully it's fixed, but if it isn't, couldn't you handle it differently, maybe by not dismissing Kristaly at all, or changing the conversation so she's not required?

P.S.: I know it's "Kristaly" and not "Kristalys", but my subconscious seems to differ sometimes.
